About the product

About Coffee: A Unique Highland Gem

Papua New Guinea Elimbari is a distinguished specialty coffee hailing from the Chuave District in Simbu Province, located in the central highlands of Papua New Guinea. This coffee is renowned for its exceptional quality, cultivated at elevations ranging from 1,500 to 1,800 meters above sea level. The fertile volcanic soils and temperate climate of the region contribute to the development of its unique flavor profile

Varietals and Processing
The coffee is primarily grown by smallholder farmers in "gardens"—small plots of land intercropped with other crops. The main varietals include Typica, Arusha, and Bourbon. The processing method involves pulping the cherries on the same day they are picked, followed by a 24-hour dry fermentation, washing, and sun-drying on tarpaulin beds. This meticulous processing ensures a clean and vibrant cup profile

Papua New Guinea Elimbari has garnered attention in the specialty coffee community for its distinctive characteristics. It has been featured by various roasters and is appreciated for its versatility across different brewing methods.
