About the product

About Coffee:

Kenya AA coffee is widely regarded as one of the finest coffees in the world, known for its bright acidity, full body, and complex flavor profile that often includes fruity and wine-like notes. The name “Kenya AA” refers to the coffee's origin and grade, not a brand or variety.

Geographic and Climatic Conditions
Kenya AA coffee is grown in the highlands of Kenya, primarily on the slopes of Mount Kenya and in regions such as Nyeri, Kirinyaga, and Embu. These areas lie at altitudes ranging from 1,400 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The rich, volcanic soil, moderate equatorial climate, and well-distributed rainfall create ideal conditions for growing high-quality Arabica beans.

The Meaning of “AA”
The “AA” in Kenya AA refers to the size and density of the beans, which is part of Kenya's coffee grading system. “AA” beans are the largest and considered among the highest quality due to their superior flavor potential. The grading system also includes AB, PB (Peaberry), and others, based on size and shape.

History and Development
Coffee was introduced to Kenya by French missionaries in the late 19th century, although commercial cultivation began in earnest during the early 20th century under British colonial rule. After independence in 1963, coffee production became a key part of the national economy. Kenya’s government and cooperatives established a unique auction system to ensure transparency and reward quality. This system has helped Kenya earn a global reputation for producing premium specialty coffees.

Global Reputation
Thanks to its distinct characteristics and the country’s meticulous attention to quality, Kenya AA is a favorite among specialty coffee roasters and consumers worldwide. It consistently ranks highly in international tastings and competitions.
