About the product
About Coffee:
Peru Arabica coffee is a distinguished specialty coffee known for its smooth, balanced flavor profile and high-quality production methods. Cultivated primarily in the high-altitude regions of Peru, this coffee is cherished by enthusiasts for its mild acidity, subtle sweetness, and aromatic complexity.
Origin and cultivation:
Peru stands as one of the world's leading producers of Arabica coffee, with approximately 70% of its coffee output being Arabica beans. The predominant varieties include Typica, Caturra, and Catimor, each contributing unique characteristics to the coffee's flavor profile. These beans are cultivated in diverse regions such as Cajamarca, Amazonas, and San Martín, at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 1,800 meters above sea level. The high altitudes, combined with the region's rich soil and favorable climate, provide ideal conditions for producing high-quality coffee beans.
Sustainable Practices:
Many Peruvian coffee farmers employ organic and sustainable farming practices, including shade-grown cultivation under native trees. These methods not only contribute to the preservation of the environment but also enhance the complexity and quality of the coffee beans. Additionally, a significant portion of coffee production is carried out by smallholder farmers organized into cooperatives, which support fair trade practices and community development
Recognition and Quality:
Peru Arabica coffee has garnered international acclaim for its exceptional quality. For example, the Peru Tunki coffee, an organic Arabica cultivated in the Tambopata region, achieved an impressive score of 87 points in the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) rating. This coffee is celebrated for its creamy-chocolate notes, nutty aroma, and low acidity, making it a standout example of Peruvian coffee excellence.
