About the product

About Coffee:

Brazil is the world’s largest producer of coffee, and one of it's most renowned coffee-growing regions is the *Cerrado Mineiro*, located in the western part of Minas Gerais state. The Cerrado is a vast tropical savanna, characterized by flat terrain, well-defined seasons, and ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality Arabica coffee.

Coffee cultivation in the Cerrado began gaining momentum in the 1970s. Prior to that, the region was considered unsuitable due to its acidic soil and seasonal droughts. However, advances in agricultural technology, such as soil correction with lime and the development of drought-resistant coffee varieties, transformed the Cerrado into one of Brazil’s most productive and respected coffee regions.

Coffees from the Cerrado are typically grown at altitudes ranging from 800 to 1,300 meters above sea level. The distinct dry season during harvest allows for natural and pulped natural processing methods, which contribute to the coffee’s clean cup profile. Beans from this region are known for their balanced flavor, medium body, low acidity, and notes of chocolate, nuts, and caramel.

In 2013, *Cerrado Mineiro* became the first coffee-producing region in Brazil to receive *Denomination of Origin (DO)* status. This certification guarantees the origin and quality of the coffee, much like wine appellations in Europe. It reflects the region’s commitment to traceability, sustainability, and consistent excellence in production.

Today, Cerrado coffee is highly valued both domestically and internationally, often used as a single-origin option or in premium blends. It represents not only Brazil’s capacity for innovation in coffee farming but also the unique terroir of the Cerrado ecosystem.
